How Todays Entertainment Industry Can effect Our Mind-sets

Young adults are exposed to a lot of stuff these days. Stuff designed to mold minds into a certain way of thinking. Most of our influence today is done through movies, television, music, and literature. Look at what we have to look up to as role models now: most of the music out there promotes selling drugs, pimping women, flashing money, how many sex partners they have, and the list goes on and on. Ninety percent of what’s on t.v. is absolute trash.
You have reality shows that promote homosexuality, music t.v. which adds images to the beat of music promoting drugs and crime. There are so many movies out there now that seem to always glorify the gangster life style which shows people driving nice cars, having lots of women, always having fun and obtaining fast cash.
You see as a young adults, we are searching for identity and if we allow our minds to be filled with this stuff not realizing its just entertainment you could really be setting yourself up for failure. Usually in the entertainment business they only show one part of what’s going on, mostly just the exciting part and never the down fall or all the consequences that go along with that life style. Because I have yet to meet any one that has lived a life of crime or a life on drugs their whole life and was truly happy, or better yet lived to talk about it outside of jail. I can tell you from experience when you are in that life style you are usually searching for something to fill an emptiness inside you whether it be with drugs, fast money or sexual partners but let me tell you that the emptiness you are feeling will never be filled. You will always be looking for the next best thing or high you will keep telling yourself as soon as I get this much money or when I buy this car or get that girl- constantly telling yourself I will finally be happy or that will make me complete. But its not true.
You will never be happy until you find peace. And trust me, you will never find peace in that life. See for you to want to live a life like that you must first be seduced. What do I mean by that? Well it means that there is something that you find attractive. Things like money, drugs, and power could be it. Or maybe its just the over all life style.
